Registration period: 15 February to 1 May
Each year, the registration period opens in mid-February and ends at the beginning of May. Authors complete forms that provide necessary information about their new books to the Public Lending Right Program. (We do not currently offer online registration services.)
If the deadline date falls on a weekend or statutory holiday, the deadline moves to the next business day. Your completed application and all support material must be postmarked on or before the deadline date.
Once registered, authors do not need to re-register each year; the file will be carried over from year to year. Registered authors do, however, need to inform the PLR Program of new books or new editions or new formats of registered titles.
