NEW - PLR Payment Threshold
Effective February 2015, there will be a $50 threshold set for a PLR payment. This will mean that only those registrants whose library survey results amount to at least $50 will qualify to receive a PLR payment.
The Canada Council for the Arts distributes annual payments to Canadian authors through the Public Lending Right (PLR) Program as compensation for the free public access to their books in Canadian public libraries.
The PLR Commission provides guidance to the PLR program.
The PLR registration period is closed.
Registration period: 15 February to 1 May 2016
Registrations received outside of the registration period will NOT be accepted and will be returned to the sender.
The PLR cycle takes a full year to complete. PLR payments will be mailed out to registered authors who quality in mid-February 2016. We will include a personalized File Update form, which we ask you to use to submit new titles.
Registration forms for new authors will be downloadable from this website during the registration period. If you are not already registered, and would like to receive an e-mail notice in February 2016 when the registration forms are available on our website, please click here.
