Karoline Georges ( Saint-Hyacinthe, QC) is a writer and multidisciplinary artist.
Her works include La Mue de l’hermaphrodite (Leméac, 2001 / éditions ère, Paris, 2007), Ataraxie (L’Effet pourpre, 2004), Sous béton (Alto, 2011), finalist for the Prix des libraires du Québec 2012, L’itinérante qui venait du Nord (Leméac, 2003), Silver Seal, Mr. Christie’s Book Award, (l’individualiste) (Maelström, Bruxelles, 2006) and Variations endogènes (Alto, 2014). Under the Stone (Anvil Press, Vancouver), the English translation of Sous béton, was published in 2016.
Her artistic work combining poetry, sound and video art and 3D modelling has been presented numerous times in North America and Europe. She has received several awards and honours, including the FutureFest Art Prize (United Kingdom, 2016) for her work Our Profiles Kiss, an Official Selection at the 4th Ó Bhéal Poetry-Film Competition (Ireland, 2016) for Repères, and a Jury Selection at the Prix Poésie Média (France, 2009) for Programme d’entrainement à l’usage d’une conscience hygiénique. She has had two solo exhibitions, one at Bande Vidéo in Québec City (2015), and one at Expression, Centre d’exposition de Saint-Hyacinthe (2016).
From 2006 to 2013, she was a member of the Commission de la littérature at the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec. She is a collaborator with the Canada Research Chair on Digital Arts and Literature.
In 2006 she was awarded the Prix Relève from the Conseil Montérégien de la Culture et des Communications and in 2012 the prize for artistic creation from the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec.
